After giving my review of the Restored Hope Network Hope 2022 conference, I return to reflecting on the recent Theology of the Body Institute's "Revealed" conference by tying both conferences together to argue that a true understanding of Theology of the Body leads to promotion of transformational ex-gay ministry and counseling. There are increasingly popular voices in Christianity, particularly in Big Evangelicalism, that will agree with the symbolism in TOB, but they remain silent, apprehensive, or downright opposed to ministry or counseling to overcome unwanted same-sex attraction or gender identity confusion. These Christian thought leaders are missing how TOB is all about sexual and gender integration. They preach holiness without the healing, but you cannot have one without the other.

September 25-27, 2025, I had the immense honor of being at the American Association of Christian Counselors World Conference in Nashville, TN, and co-presenting with Dr. Christopher Rosik, one of my fellow board members on the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity! We presented on Censoring Christian Sexuality: Insights from the Trenches. In my portion, I outlined the Christian vision of sexuality and then the major factors why there is opposition to Christian sexual morality and Christian sexuality counseling, and why there are so many divisions within the church on the topic. For the sake of time, I had to chop a lot. So, here's a more thorough teaching, diving into philosophy, culture dynamics, and Moral Foundations Theory.

On Oct. 7th, the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments for the Kaley Chiles v. Salazar case involving a Christian counselor challenging Colorado's ban against "conversion therapy" for minors. This is a huge case for those of us who have been fighting for therapeutic choice since the first state ban in California passed in 2012. In wrapping up my discussion of the Chiles v. Salazar case at the Supreme Court, challenging Colorado's ban against "conversion therapy" (therapy to explore change in same-sex attraction and behaviors and gender identity/expression), I want to discuss two amicus briefs submitted in support of Colorado's ban. These briefs were written by ministers and counselors who claim to be "conservative, orthodox Christians" that advocate for the Side B "gay Christian" approach in the Church. They all claim to support the Church's historic understanding of sex and marriage, and yet they oppose therapy to help individuals better align with God's design and destiny for our sexuality.
