Welcome to PsychoBible, babbling about psychology and theology!

I'm Andrew Rodriguez, a Christian therapist, speaker, and former youth pastor. In my counseling, I specialize in sexual and relational issues. PsychoBible is my outlet for discussing ideas about the intersection of Christianity and psychology, especially regarding sexuality and cultural issues.

Some topics to expect: Theology of the Body, therapy for unwanted same-sex attraction, and the culture war.

Logan Paul Asks Cliffe Knechtle about Homosexuality: My Commentary

A clip of Logan Paul's interview with pastors and apologists Cliff and Stuart Knechtle, asking them about homosexuality, went viral. And Not the Bee touted Cliffe's answer as a lesson in the hope of the Gospel and a master class in grace and truth, seasoned with salt. I think their answers show the need for Christian apologists to have a more adequate anthropology and understanding of sexuality. Let's break down their full conversation on this topic and see what we can learn.

University of Valley Forge (Valley Forge Christian College) Is Closing | Reflecting on My Alma Mater

Last week, 7/29/26, my alma mater, the University of Valley Forge (Valley Forge Christian College in my time), announced they are closing after 87 years at the end of this summer semester. I came in as a student in 2004, graduated in December, 2007, then stayed involved as I served first with the Moving On men's recovery and support group from 2008-2016, then as the campus counselor from 2016-2025. Let's take a tour of the school as I share some reflections on my many years there.

Shame or Guilt: How to Detect and Differentiate these Crucial Feelings

Shame and guilt are two of the most critical emotions involved in counseling, especially for addictions and sin issues. God gave us these emotions for good reasons, so we need to know what they mean, which type you're feeling, how to know you're feeling them, and what to do with them. But beware: evil manipulates these feelings to keep us in bondage.
