Christian apologist Sean McDowell just recently released a short video describing how he would counsel a Christian with unwanted same-sex attraction. As a therapist who specializes in this topic, I want to supplement Sean's advice with guidance on how to go further in helping someone explore his/her SSA with curiosity and compassion, and hopefully heal what may underlie the SSA, as well as respond to pushback I receive from certain conservative Christians.

In honor of my parents' birthdays (Dec. 16 and 17), I interview them to discuss Open Heart Ministry, their service to the homeless and displaced in Myrtle Beach, SC. Luis and Marilyn Rodriguez are chaplains with years of experience doing lay ministry and pastoral work, such as mission trips, prison ministry, helping people in addiction recovery, teaching ESL and GED training, and caring for the elderly. I admire my parents for always being open to the Holy Spirit leading them to show people their worth.
