During the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice & Scientific Integrity online conference Aug. 28 & 29, 2026, a topic came up in our Q&A. I expounded on a phenomenon I've observed with certain male clients that contributes to some degree to their homosexuality. These clients come from strict religious upbringings that emphasize the purity of women. These anxious clients then internalize this as a block against their own heterosexual development. Last week, 7/29/26, my alma mater, the University of Valley Forge (Valley Forge Christian College in my time), announced they are closing after 87 years at the end of this summer semester. I came in as a student in 2004, graduated in December, 2007, then stayed involved as I served first with the Moving On men's recovery and support group from 2008-2016, then as the campus counselor from 2016-2025. Let's take a tour of the school as I share some reflections on my many years there.
